Puppy Updates and Pictures

Ollie - Golden Retriever

A few weeks ago I mentioned that people I know were getting new pups and its time to update with some pictures. We also have a special guest -- Strider!

Strider - Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever

Strider is a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever who lives in my local area; he's a friend of a friend and since we recently featured Tollers on the blog it seemed appropriate to get a local Toller to show here. Unfortunately, we only have one Strider picture at this time...maybe more in the future?

Ollie and his show - Dancing with the Stars

Strider will be a friend of one the new pups mentioned earlier - Ollie the Golden Retriever. There is some feeling that Ollie might be part polar bear. Okay, I'm the biggest proponent of this line of thought, but look at this quickly growing fellow (that's big brother Gus' head in the foreground.)

Jasmine and Seneca
Then there is our friend the Springer Spaniel, Seneca and her family. Here we have pics of her with her big sisters, Jasmine and Princess.

Seneca and Princess
Jack and Bess

We'll close this update with Bess the Airedale. She is learning how to patrol and play from her big brother Jack the Giant Schnauzer. Serious work for a still growing girl!

Bess learning about steam-rolling another dog

Patrolling is thirsty work!

    1. Puppies are cute but I admit, I'm tending to prefer a nice mature dog
:-) All these cute pups have admirable older siblings who have manners and are house-broken - one of my favorite qualities in a dog ;-)

    1. Hey Jet!

We're really happy to know so many great dogs; we get to enjoy the cuteness without having the training duties ;-)

  6. Hey Christy: Thanks for featuring Ollie!

After looking at your post, I went and added the SONY RX100 recommended by David Pogue to my Amazon wish list. Although the iphone 4S has a better camera than prior iphones, clearly the shots with cameras far surpass those with phones in your post. I had a digital camera that was quite good, but it is old at this point and the batteries don't hold a charge. Also, I figure on the new SONY being our PIRE project camera.

I'm waiting to hear whether our secretary is getting a new Yorkie pup to companion her existing adult Yorkie. Their friend had a pregnant female who gave birth yesterday, but last word was just one pup, so Karen won't be able to get one. Hopefully, a second emerged afterward. Karen's a bit worried about all the work with a pup, but I reminded her that it actually goes by quickly. Besides which, she litter trains her Yorkies, so what could be easier than that? She can leave a pup all day in a crate with a litter box and not have to worry... Attractive in its way, but not something I'm going to adopt for my goldens or Zoe anytime soon.... Kathy

    1. Litter training dogs - another thing that doesn't happen to be on my bucket list :-)

The fact is, Ollie is cute no matter how his picture is taken... these are all lovely dogs (and we hope to see more of Strider.)

    1. Good to see you Karen! I was very sorry to hear about Starlee - she has left many good memories to fill your heart but it takes time to be able to remember without feeling that loss :/ Bessie sure looks like a cutie - hope you get to meet her this coming year.
